The Adventures of
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genuis

Doug's Logo [image]In 2000, Nickelodeon began airing 3-D animated films created by DNA Productions. The low-cost animation process used consumer software, Lightwave 3D, rendering a visual that was previously only captured by high-end movie studios. Several television movies were produced to air on the network. A year later, the full-length feature film, "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genuis" debuted in theaters nation-wide. The success of the film led to the weekly series, using the the same technology, allowing a flawless look to translate from TV to film and back to TV.

Jimmy Neutron and Godddard [image]The story revolves around Jimmy, a child inventor with superior intelligence. Set in Retroville, Texas, Jimmy copes with gadgets gone arye, attacking aliens, and other disasters. He's accompanied by his robotic dog, Goddard, and his two best friends, the odd-ball Sheen and the worry-wart Carl. When the boys are not in the club house/laboratory, they're usually out experimenting with Jimmy's latest invention. By chance, they often run into Jimmy's rival, Cindy Vortex and her friend Libby. Critical and judgemental, the girls are often caught in the middle of Jimmy's adventures againt their wills, resulting in temporary alliance. Luckily for Jimmy, his usual "Brain Blast" helps him resolve the problems caused by his inventions in just enough time for his parents to be none-the-wiser of his mishaps.

Over the past few years, "Jimmy Neutron" has had success with a series of cross-overs with fellow Nicktoon, "Fairly Odd Parents." The specials, called "The Timmy Jimmy Power Hour" feature Jimmy and Timmy switching reaities and coping with their new surroundings. The specials place take the characters from a two-dimensional world to a 3-D world (and vice versa) bringing out interesting visuals and plot-bending antics.
